Common Pests
In the UK we mainly have two types of Cockroaches the Oriental cockroach and the German cockroach. The oriental or Blatta orientalis are usually large and black while the German or Blattela germanica is small and light brown in colour. Please call or go to contact page for advice.

There are two types of flea common in UK homes the cat and the dog flea. Fleas are a nuisance to their hosts, causing an itching sensation which in turn may result in the host attempting to remove the pest by biting, pecking, scratching, etc. in the vicinity of the parasite. Fleas are not simply a source of annoyance, however. Flea bites generally cause the formation of swollen itching spots with a single puncture point at the centre. The best-known rat species are the black rat (Rattus rattus) and the brown rat (Rattus norvegicus). The most common in the UK is the brown rat it is a brown or grey rodent with a body up to 25 cm (10 in) long, and a similar tail length; the male weighs on average 350 g (12 oz) and the female 250 g (9 oz)
The House mouse (Mus musculus) characteristically has a pointed snout, small rounded ears, and a long naked almost hairless tail. One female mouse can have 5 to 10 litters per year with each litter having between 3 and 14 babies.
